At a distance of about 8 kilometres from the capital of Santorini “Fira” , shines from a far a traditional local village which is called “Pyrgos Traditional Village”and it is the highest village of the island. “Pyrgos Traditional Village” has one of the five and newest castles of Santorini (was built around 1580) and it was the capital of the island after the destruction of the castle located in Skaros.There are three churches that surround Kasteli, which are “Koimisis tis Theotokou” | “Agia Theodosia” & “Eisodion of Theotokou”.
